Pause Moments to Enjoy #1

One of the practical ways that I enjoy sharing Pause Moments is on social media.  This is a collage of some of the posts from the last several months.  I hope that you enjoy them and share them to encourage someone else today.

Are you listening to the right voice?

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

“Alena, let mommy hold that bracelet for you so that you don’t lose it,” I said. “No mommy. I won’t lose it”, was the reply. This phrase was repeated several times throughout our two-hour visit at the local mall. My six-year-old daughter decided that she was going to wear her bracelet without our knowledge after we had already told her that it was too big for her. The result was Alena desperately asking us to go back to the store where she believed that she left it and her going home disappointed. Read more

It’s Time to Let Your Light Shine

I was so excited to finally see the movie God’s Not Dead 2. I had to wait for it come out on video because as a busy mother of two children, I don’t get many opportunities to go to the movies. I am sure that many of you can relate to this reality as well. My anticipation was growing because I like to support Christian movies and I wanted to see a close friend’s sister, Trisha Lafache, in the returning role as Amy Ryan.  She is pictured with me in the photo. Is Family Time a Treasure?

Recently, I received a phone call from a relative that I hadn’t spoken to in awhile.  He was in the process of organizing our first “official” family reunion, so he asked me to help him with some of the details. As we were discussing the event, the conversation shifted to discussing the vast amount of time that had passed since the last time we spoke. We both recognized that other things had taken precedence, so we began to explore ways to improve our family connections during this present year. Read more

Priority Check

 Ephesians 5:16-17

Today, my children and I are at home because of the inclement weather.  Since they are at home, that always limits my options on what I can get accomplished. So, while contemplating how to organize my day, I received a text from a friend who was checking on me. Throughout the conversation, I shared with her all of the projects that I am working on and expressed how busy I am. Read more

Do You Know Who I Am?

10 When the apostles returned, they told Jesus everything they had done. Then he slipped quietly away with them toward the town of Bethsaida.11 But the crowds found out where he was going, and they followed him. He welcomed them and taught them about the Kingdom of God, and he healed those who were sick.12 Late in the afternoon the twelve disciples came to him and said, “Send the crowds away to the nearby villages and farms, so they can find food and lodging for the night. There is nothing to eat here in this remote place.”13 But Jesus said, “You feed them.” “But we have only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Or are you expecting us to go and buy enough food for this whole crowd?”14 For there were about 5,000 men there. Jesus replied, “Tell them to sit down in groups of about fifty each.” 15 So the people all sat down. 16 Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, looked up toward heaven, and blessed them. Then, breaking the loaves into pieces, he kept giving the bread and fish to the disciples so they could distribute it to the people. 17 They all ate as much as they wanted, and afterward, the disciples picked up twelve baskets of leftovers! Luke 9:10-17 NLT
