Stephanie R. Singleton holds a Master’s of Science degree in Special Education and a Bachelor’s of Art Degree in Bilingual Education. She currently resides in the Hudson Valley and has been teaching Special Education since 1999. In October of 2010, one of her students suddenly took his life.  The sudden death was life changing; she found herself reflecting on her purpose as a woman of faith in education. Stephanie felt prompted after hearing a prayer written by her co-teacher that a book needed to be created to help other Christians to be a light to youth in a secular environment.  During her time of healing from this loss, her first book called Empowering Youth with Purpose: Prayers, reflections and activities for those who teach, guide or minister to youth (2011) was co-authored.  This was the beginning of the organization A Teacher’s Light (www.ateacherslight/facebook).

After writing her first book, Stephanie felt compelled once again to embark on a path of writing. This time, God unexpectedly birthed a desire to share her personal battle and success with weight loss and fitness with others in her second book called The Devil Wants Me Fat: Lessons to Inspire, Empower and Overcome.  PAUSE-66 was then created to remind believers in Jesus Christ that no matter what decisions or actions are taken, it all needs to be rooted in the word of God.

In addition to being an author, teacher and motivational speaker, Stephanie has been happily married since 2000 to her husband Austin and they have two daughters named Autumn and Alena. She also continues to write books that will challenge Christians to a more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Stephanie is available for faith-based speaking engagements.
